Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia came and went in a flash but left us with some new fashion trends to consider. If you were flat out last week and couldn’t keep up with the runway shows here’s your catch up.

Camilla and Marc returned to Fashion Week Australia after a hiatus with a show stopping Australiana themed set. They set the bar really, really high. The collection featured earthy tones, florals, high necklines and pastel blue heels and white boots made more than one appearance.

Bianca Spender, Lee Matthews, Micheal Lo Sordo and Hansen and Gretel were some other crowd favourites this year. Camilla closed the show with a breathtaking floral runway. Featuring cherry blossom trees and Victoria Secret style orchid wings on the models, this show was everything that Camilla encompasses.

But most importantly, what did we learn from the IT girls and fashion influencers attending Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2018? Check out the top 3 MBFW Australia 2018 trends below.

  1. Mini Bags are a thing. Unfortunately, although our iphones continue to grow, the IT bag is getting smaller. Mini handbags are trending, more specifically, mini bucket bags. From Gucci to Louis Vuitton, it’s quality over quantity in the bag department.
  2. White Ankle Boots. We’ve said it before, (here to be exact), ankle boots are in. Keep an eye out for our James Smith Brooklyn Boot coming soon. And in the meantime, we have some beautiful white leather slides you can check out here, here and here.
  3. Stripes are back. Whether it’s a simple racer stripe down the outer seam of your jeans or an all-out tailored suit, stripes are back. They’re super flattering as well and can elongate your legs to model status. If you’ve got a thing for stripes, check out our On Duty Poolside striped slides here.

Side Note: We are excited to announce that we are off to “Splash Paris” to showcase our latest James Smith designs. Get ready for an amazing new colour palette and some fresh new heels coming your way soon. Stay tuned!
